Sacramento Skatepark Advocates (SSA) is the only organized effort to get free public skate parks built in the Capital city. We are an all volunteer citizens group of skaters, parents and supporters. The SSA has worked closely with the Sacramento city government and Parks and Recreation toward the dream of free concrete skate parks in Sacramento. In November, 2006, Granite Regional Skate Park, a 40,000 sq. ft., Wally Hollyday-designed skate park opened near Power Inn Road and 14th Ave. In February, 2007, Sacramento's second concrete skate park, Tanzanite, opened in the Natomas / Truxel area.
